A Beautiful Intimate Celebration

There are some weddings that you walk away from with your heart feeling completely full and Meghann and Luke’s day at Asbury Woods in Erie, PA was one of those weddings. From the moment I arrived, there was this calm sweetness about the two of them that carried throughout the entire day.

Their engagement was on the shorter side, but that only added to the magic. When you know you’ve found your person, sometimes there’s no reason to wait. Meghann and Luke knew exactly what they wanted: a wedding that reflected their love, their family, and their joy. They pulled it all together so beautifully with the help of their family and friends.

A Ceremony Close to the Heart

The ceremony took place in the serene setting of Asbury Woods, surrounded by trees and the soft sounds of nature. What made it extra special was that Luke’s and Meghann’s father were involved in the ceremony. Luke’s father began the ceremony until Meghann and her father walked down the aisle. After formally announcing their intent to give away their daughter, Meghann’s father, Wayne, took over and officiated the wedding. Watching him guide his daughter and Luke through their vows was such a touching moment—not just for the couple, but for everyone who had gathered to witness their beginning.

There were tears, there was laughter, and most of all, there was a deep sense of joy. It felt like the whole forest leaned in to listen as these two became husband and wife.

The Sweetest Celebration

From there, it was time to celebrate and let me tell you, celebrate they did! We headed over to The Brewerie at Union Station. Where Absolutely Unbelievable Entertainment lived up to their name. Steve keeping the energy high and the dance floor full all evening. It didn’t matter if you were a little flower girl or a grandparent—everyone had a turn spinning, clapping, and laughing under the lights.

That’s one of my favorite parts of wedding days: seeing generations come together, united in joy. Meghann and Alex’s reception was the perfect example of that kind of celebration.

A Reflection on Short Engagements

Weddings like this one are also a sweet reminder that short engagements can be such a beautiful thing. While they don’t work for everyone, when you’re in a strong and healthy relationship and you just know, it’s okay to move forward quickly.

I’ve seen it in Meghann and Luke’s story, and I’ve lived it myself. My husband and I were only engaged for four months, and here we are 16 years later, still building our life together. Sometimes, when you focus less on the length of time and more on the heart of the commitment, it all falls into place in the most beautiful way.

Meghann and Luke’s wedding at Asbury Woods and The Brewerie was such a joyful reminder of why I love documenting love stories. It wasn’t about how long they were engaged or how many months they had to plan—it was about the sweetness of their love, the support of their families, and the way they filled every moment with meaning.

It was truly the sweetest day, filled with laughter, dancing, and the kind of joy that lingers long after the last song is played.
