Amy and Dan’s wedding at the beautiful Bramblewood venue in McDonald, PA was a celebration of love, family, and pure joy. Surrounded by the charm of a restored barn, twinkling string lights, and the vibrant colors of a flower field, guests were transported into a magical setting. The venue’s treelined path led everyone to a serene ceremony site next to a tranquil pond, setting the stage for a day filled with emotion.
Amy and Dan were not only surrounded with family and friends as witnesses and bridal party members but in other capacities as well. I’ve known Amy since our days at Geneva College. (Amy was blessed to be assigned as my roommate many years ago. ;)) I was so honored to be asked to document their day. Amy’s childhood friend, Justin, officiated the ceremony. Justin added heartfelt and humorous touches throughout the ceremony. One of the most notable was sharing how Amy is “one of the most pure, happy, loving, and incredibly kind people I’ve ever met… with an extreme potty mouth after a few drinks.” Justin also praised Dan, calling him the man everyone hoped Amy would find.
As Amy and Dan exchanged their vows, there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. Dan, overcome with emotion, thanked Amy for embracing his boys, Asher and Jameson, as her own. He spoke of how she had helped create a beautiful, loving family. Amy, with tears in her eyes, shared that she had waited for this moment for so long, yearning to be a wife and mother, and now she had everything she dreamed of all at once.
To symbolize the blending of their family, Amy, Dan, and their three boys—Ryker, Jameson, and Asher—took part in a sand ceremony, pouring different colors of sand into one vessel. It was a beautiful and symbolic moment that underscored the unity of their family.
The reception that followed was as unforgettable as the ceremony. Amid the laughter and dancing, a surprise guest made an appearance—a dinosaur costume, adding a playful and hilarious twist to the evening. The couple also continued a family tradition that started years ago at Amy’s parents’ wedding: the beloved “toilet paper” dance. This quirky tradition brought even more joy and laughter to the night, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Amy and Dan’s wedding was a perfect blend of heartfelt moments, lighthearted fun, and deep family love. It was a day that not only united two people but brought together a family, with memories that will be cherished for years to come.
